Looks like they have been listening. It looks an interesting line up and does actually give more choice.

I am genuinely sorry to see that Origins have disappeared, as this strand was innovative (if not my cup of tea). Moving sport to AM in the evenings is a good move, I wonder if we will still get the split frequency coverage on a Saturday?

It is good to see JVS back, I heard him a few times on BBC Northampton and his show was like Stephen's a couple of years ago. I think that Stephen will do well on Breakfast as he can provide the right pitch and tone for various stories that get discussed on a flagship show.

Rob back on Drivetime, I will wait and see. Martyn was good so once again (as with Breakfast) Rob is going to have follow a very tough act.

I actually like the new line up - apart from the nine o'clock show which contains cringe making humour that six formers would produce and find funny.

It is good that 3CR recognises that listeners have differing tastes and likes and dislikes, and has tried to cater for as big a majority as possible.

Well done.3CR is certainly among the top ten local radio stations in the country.

Cringe making? Pathetic more like! That is the first thing anyone with half a brain would have got rid of. Mind you the number of station staff who now no longer seem to be, or willing to be in some of the pre recorded material is dwindling with the exeption of the head cheese. Which suggests he must be smacked off his head on some substance!!!

Still its good to see the boy Dealey back, even if its just Fridays.

Wrong agian Playing with yourself!
I drive a 7.5 tonner delivering parcels around the 3 Counties.
I rely on the traffic reports and have the RDS enabled for traffic reports on the trucks radio.
When I get back into the cab having made a delivery I often find that "9" rubbish on as the RDS retuned away from Radio 2 for a traffic report in my absence.
I only listen to Roberto and Stephen, the rest I would not pass water on.

<laugh> You know an awful lot about the Nine for someone who 'often' finds RDS has tuned your radio to it. Given that RDS is only supposed to stay on for about two minutes, you must be awfully unlucky to hear as much as you obviously do. <whistle>

There is supposed to be an RDS signal broadcast before and after a traffic report.
3CR are good at not broadcasting the "after" signal

I suggest you look up how RDS works. It shuts off automatically after about two minutes. So either your radio is knackered or you listen to more of the Nine than you want to admit to. <laugh>

I could well be the radio is knackered.
There is no way I would willingly listen to that pile of excrement.

Well, joking aside - and given these boards are apparently due to close soon, how about a truce?

Well this is certainly a step in the right direction which should of have taken place months and months ago.
We the people of 3cr land now have a choice of listening in the evenings with a F.M and M.W split which I was going on about two years ago when the dredful Origins project was thrown at us.
Sue Marchant back Monday to Thursdays from 7pm is great news not sure about the Friday night line up it all looks a bit of a mess still and WHY have Ern and Vern still been kept, when the brillant Nick Risby Soul Show could have made a return from 10pm.
Great news about Keith Skues returning to F.M with the fantasic Pirate Radio Skues Sundays from 9pm and about time to.
Richard Spendlove on a Saturday night from 9pm would have been good to return to BBC 3cr,the best phone inn anywhere on BBC Local radio,Colin Berry could have covered Richard when he went on holiday still giving Colin Saturday Breakfast to present each week.
Sport on M.W and Community programming makes total sense, leaving a choice for the majority of the 3cr audience on F.M.these are the biggest changes for a long time, the trouble is we did used to have all these "new changes" as part of the day to day schedule until 2 or so years ago,so groundbreaking it is not,but for the first time in the last few years at least the listener apppears to have been taken some notice of.
If they had done this in the first place BBC 3cr would have been able to keep hold of the large part of the audience it has now lost, this why eventualy the BBC 3cr management have HAD to move and reverse the bad mistakes made over the last couple of years.
There really was no choice of making these changes,I hope that the parts of the schedules that still have stayed the same such as Lorna Milton will at some point be given the same treatment as the April 7th changes.

Thats the oldest excuse in the book.So your radio tunes itself back onto 3Cr when the 9 is on? If you say so.

It's good news that the station is to reduce the number of travel bulletins at the quieter times on the roads it will help with the flow of the programmes.
