Good to know the taxpayers money is not being wasted on pointless cases then

I'd heard about the racism complaint Fothers (something about his fortune being told and his wallet if I remember rightly) but what's the second bit?

I complained about an episode of Mr Benn because in it he portrays an Englishman with a suit, bowler and rolled umbarella, how dare he stereotype us...<yikes>

I'll let you know the outcome...;)

I hope Basil himself doesn't get into trouble. I mean, he couldn't help being approached by the woman. Anyone know if he bought her wares?
But Basil is far from racist, anyway. His friend (Tigger?) is a dog, and most of the company he keeps is with humans. <biggrin>

It was said that..
Bridie Jones, of the England Romany, Gypsy and Irish Traveller Network,
was very upset...
I suppose any one who pays tax..national insurance stamp..car tax..council tax..water rates ..and is as good as recycling rubbish as most travellers do ..would be upset by a six year old tv programme implying gypsies only sell wooden pegs...

This is what you get for the ban on hunting! These vermin are now so full of themselves they can actually broadcast race hate against a minority. The hard working, law abiding travelling community who fulfil such a valuable roll in our society need protecting from these fluffy tailed, boom, booming Nazis!

I do seem to remember that bastion of Political Correctness Viz Comic publishing a story about Gypsies which also got the thought police upset, now what was it called ...;)

I believe it was the joke about Basil's wallet being stolen which caused most of the upset. It inferred that gypsies are nothing more than common thieves and can not be trusted. <doh>

How rediculous - what on earth is a fox going to do with heather and pegs? <doh>

I can see a connection between Heather and shaped bits of wood, but I wouldn't call her a fox. Sly old vixen, perhaps ... <erm>

What a heinous crime they are accusing the gypsies of. You bunch of...of...of...heather sellers! No wonder they're up in arms. <doh>

How long does it take to learn the "house rules"? Or don't you actually have the authority to take stuff off?
