A few results to shake the league up on the weekend. We (torps) lost to Cotswool 2-1 (well done cotswool, think you just about edged that game. Was played in good spirit too).

Sneyd lost to Ashley, and Cabot drew with HOH.

Juve will be happy that none of the bottom teams got the vital win.

DDAS 2 - 4 Lawes
HOH 1 - 1 Cabot
POB 1 - 1 Cowboys
Retainers 0 - 0 Barca
Sneyd 0 - 3 Ashley
Torps 1 - 2 Cotswool

Shock of the day Sporting Greyhound losing 3 - 1 to Hydez, what happened there boys?!?!

That was a shock.... we beat a very tough and competitive Saints side 1-0, 4 bookings in the game though it was played in a very good spirit, they always seem to up there game when they playus and are a very good side.
We have Greyhounds this weekend, making it a possible title decider, after this we only have 3 games left rets res x2 and Hydez, where as Greyhounds have 4 more than us to play, should be very interesting to see who ends up champions....

I reckon they warmed down too much after last week's game...

Hi Dan - Once again, can I please ask that you do not drag threads off-topic. It is very annoying for people who are trying to talk about specific subjects. As I've said before, you're more than welcome to start up your own non Downs League threads in the Bristol area. Could you restrict your comments to those please.

Bristol Host.

I really do think you are a little harsh in reprimanding Dan for this comment.
He is NOT off thread, but merely enlarging on what CabotRocky instigated, viz the end of the season. Have we here, one set of rules for one and another set of rules for others ?

No He isnt, because ressy1 had answered the query an hour earlier.

Dan has a habit and history of attempting to turn these threads into arguments, and the host was merely pre-empting this from happening, again!

Goaterthegod

Dan has done nothing wrong here; all he is doing is asking if the season ever ends, this being in consequence to CabotRockyís posting. Why should the Bristol Host react in such a way to such an innocuous comment?

Because Dan is clearly trying to goad others into an argument. He has no interest in the Downs League so why does he feel the need to continuously comment on these threads.

Bristol Host, your warnings are obviously not having the desired effect, surely there is another course of action you could explore.

If one wants a message board exclusively for the use of certain individuals and privy to those individuals with a common interest, then why use a BBC public message board? Why donít set up your own server with a message board with secret passwords etc so that undesirable elements cannot interfere with what you are doing?

Hi there

Dan has been dragging the threads off-topic for a few weeks now - his message to ask when the league ended did not need to be inside this thread.

I've warned several times in the past week about this behaviour - this may be a public messageboard but we try to keep threads on topic. If Dan wants to post another thread asking when the league ends then he can, but he had no need to post it in the middle of a thread discussing weekend results.

This is getting tedious and sad. Whilst I sympathise that you may not wish to read the musings of a group of footballers from the Bristol area, you have free choice in the decisions that you make with regards to what you read. Simply, set your forum of choice into your favourites like I have. Consequently, I don't feel the need to comment in forums I have no interest in as I don't really know that they exist. Nobody needs you to act as the Internet police.

Do you write in other forums that you don't agree with? Probably not, as you see us as the easier target. I can only assume jealousy and self pity are at the centre of your banal comments. You surely can not ever have participated in a sport as you have no understanding of the passions it can create in people. True sports players understand sport for what it does for the soul without the need to slag off sports that they may not play themselves.

I pay my taxes and my license fee like most other people. I would expect that when you wish to have your next gastric band operation as a result of your laziness and lack of self worth, you'll be expecting me to pay for your health care as well as the 8 firefighters needed to lift you out of the soiled bed you live in. Add some value to your existence Danmouth, grow up and leave us alone.

Mellow Bellow!

Cor blimey dude, calm down. Football sucks, doesn't mean i'm fat. I'm very slim and I also pay my taxes, so if I were ever to get fat, i'd be pretty happy knowing that I have contributed my fair shair so that i could get some kind of operation.

What bugs me isn't really the topic in which you discuss, it's the fact that hundreds of sad blokes post hundreds of threads all called "Weekend predictions" or something like that, can you not just save server space and perhaps only have two or three to discuss your unimportant games? Or did too much sport and lack of education at school prevent you from thinking like this?

Nuff' said :-)

Nuff said? How is that "nuff said"? All you've illustrated is that you're a sad lonely computer geek whose best friends are his keyboard, his monitor and his mouse.

If nothing else, the fact that we're discussing something as sociable and outgoing as the second biggest amateur football league in the country to be played on one site shows that we, at the end of the day, have got something better to do than sit in front of a computer and try to sound superior to people we don't know and have never met.

You, on the other hand, clearly haven't. I feel sorry for you.

Come one Bristol Host.

Bellows and irJasper are now completely off topic. You have stopped other threads in the past, why not this one. Here again we have petty insults being hurled at Dan.
We seem to have double standards here.

Bristol host get your act together.
