...Boy Racer's snide remark...

Quoted from this message

Irony and self-analysis clearly not your strong points, wandy. What exactly is it that you are good at (apart from hiding under bridges)?

I know you're not a Boy Racer V.T. <ok> Well I think I know?

Certainly not a boy, and only a racer within the appropriate context of a race track.

Only someone with a remarkably limited intellectual range would be unable to entertain the notion that it is possible to drive at high speed on a track but not on the public highway, or, similarly, that a stunt pilot is unable to follow air traffic control instruction when not in aerobatic controlled air space.

Mind you, he seems to busy listening out for the trip trap of hooves on his bridge to actually think about any of these issues.

I thought that Wandy has been trying to point out that putting cameras on stretches of roads in order to catch excessive speeders is just not working.
But then I have to admit that I think that the only reason V.T. hasn't received a speeding ticket is because he slows down when passing a speed camera like a number of other drivers who are perfectly law abiding do. Including the young Poms and the Table Tennis player who led me through the back streets of Wolverhampton one night after Boy Pom's match - Jct 10 on the M.6 being obstructed with roadworks.

Now Wandy. Just try and see the other persons point of view and stop making me think that you don't care less.

Pom likes people who care, even if they disagree with her.

Pom,

That is exactly what wandy is trying to point out.
But to say it isn't working, is his/her own misguided opinion.:(

In your opinion Pats.

Pom and Lincolnshire County council suspect Wandy is right too.

Pom,

In your opinion Pom.

But I'm afraid LCC's own website says otherwise.

Not to worry: I am sufficiently bored with wandy's tedious trolling that I have no plans to risk running into him again.

My point is, cameras are placed on stretches of road specifically to raise money, Not as the safety orgs claim, to 'slow drivers down' and 'save lives', as this is not the case.

If cameras were 'slowing drivers down' there would be no cash raised, and the road death figures would Possibly show a downward trend, again this is not the case.

I'm not alone in saying that 'cameras do not save lives' or that they 'are not working' for the purpose intended (slowing drivers down) because even mad mullah brunstrom has stated these very same Facts, he also revealed that "deaths and serious injuries actually increased at one camera site in seven"!

(This was as he prepared to leave the ACPO, he'd never Dare say it before!)

Oh, and of course, it just Might be his "misguided opinion".

So, in order to be placed there "specifically to raise money," drivers must be speeding at these locations. Which means what you are actually saying is that speed cameras are being placed to catch drivers who are breaking the law. How appalling.

That's working now, Ta, but unfortunately it means nothing.

I travel the A46..A517 occasionally, and there are Huge signs at various points informing us how many people have died on this stretch each year, it seldom changes, certainly not Downwards.

This route is notorious for fatal crashes, Every time I use it there are mounds of floral tributes at regular intervals, the road is known as, 'Dead mans Alley, Corridor of Death, The Road to Doom' plus others, massive improvements have been made in an attempt to reduce the number of deaths, but saddly, they continue, year after year after year.

Note, there are very few 'life saving' cameras along the route, I can't think why...<whistle>

hmmm... an absence of cameras, and lots of fatal accidents. Seems like you have two options there, wandy.

Either the accidents are not caused by speeding on this particular road, in which case there is no call to install speed cameras, so your "clever" innuendo has no meaning.

Or the accidents are caused by a plentiful supply of speeding motorists, in which case your vacuous argument that speed camares are there to make money falls flat on its face, as this road should then be plastered with cameras.

Either way you lose. But you must surely be used to that by now.

BTW, Patsy, the real reason why there are no scams along the route is, because the great "Cameras Save Lives" LIE would be blown apart, as if it isn't already!

I posted on this subject years ago asking why 'life saving cameras' were not in use there, strangely enough, no one could come up with an answer.

Years down the line, Ditto!

Oh, and the death total Far Exceeds the number necessary for scams to be introduced, 20+ EVERY YEAR!

Now That Is Very STRANGE, wouldn't you say?

Still on that cleft stick wandy. Because if they were just there to make money, then they would certainly put them on that stretch of road if the accidents on it are caused by speeding motorists.

Nice try with the "it would blow their cover" routine, but, according to you, there are masses of examples of speed cameras that have not decreased the rate of accidents, so what difference would one more example make? Unless you were lying when you said there were lots of other examples, of course.

Every lie you tell just shows up another of your lies.

wandywabbit,

You travel these roads only occasionally, and yet you memorise the casualty figure trends?
