Gary Megson's reign at Leicester could be over - Bolton Wanderers have been given permission to speak to the Leicester City Manager.

City chairman Milan Mandaric - who turned down two bids from the Lancashire Club - will now allow Megson to speak to Bolton.

Mr Mandaric says despite his best efforts Megson informed him after the defeat to Sheffield United he wanted to leave the club.

Megson's decision leaves the Foxes looking for a fifth manager in six months.

Are you sorry to see Megson go? Who do you think should be the new City manager?

Simple, bring back Martin Allen, Watford are 9 points clear at the top of the table, they have only suffered one defeat this year, 4-1 against a city side led by Martin Allen, he wasn't given the chance to build on that because some people are too sensitive, he stood on thier toes, looking at the way the club is performing they need more than thier toes standing on. Martin Allen was passionate, passionate about the game, the club and the fans. This club needs some genuine leadership, and apart from a brief spell at the begining of this season it hasn't had it,

Go on Milan, we are grateful for what you are trying to do, but sometimes there are none so blind as those who will not see. Go on, swallow your pride, you did it once with Harry Redknapp, and look what that did for Portsmouth, try doing it again.

Good riddance.
last nights performance was at best tedious and at worse unprintable.
if we had carried on playing we would still be waiting to score and i would be unhappy to spend the rest of my season ticket watching games with no attacking flair whatsoever.
come on milan get someone who plays players in their own position and not one who believes that the 11 should consist of 8 defenders--6 of whom are right backs.

Great news this has made my day! Last night his body language was dreadful and the team he sent out played with no passion, skill or effort. Lets get Steve Bruce with Walsh and Taggart to help.

Certainly not sorry to see Megson go. His track record shows that he's a quitter. I feel sorry for Bolton for taking him on - bye bye Premiership to them. How about a gamble on a partnership of two passionate Foxes men- Taggart and Walsh. How about it Milan ???

I always thought Megson was the wrong choice as manager. Good luck to Bolton, they will need it, boring football, no attacking flair.See you in the Championship next season.
Who will want to come to Leicester City now? Iain Dowie perhaps? Whoever we appoint needs to have Steve Walsh as part of his team. Walshy is passionate about Leicester City and he deserves to be part of any set up.

There was no point in him staying if his heart wasn't with the club anymore, but why come in the first place if thats the case? Was Leicester just a stepping stone for him until something better came along? Certainly seems like it. He did joke about only being here for something like 2 weeks in his first interview when he came to Leicester as others before him hadn't stayed long - maybe he knew then he wasn't staying.

I agree with people who've said Walsh & Taggart being part of the management team. They might not have management experience, but they sure make up for it with passion for the game and the club & they know the team aswell as, if not better than anyone. That would be a brilliant choice imo.

And - as Megson has only left Leicester for "talks" with Bolton - I hope they now say they don't want him <gg>

I know a former manager who should be given a second chance.
I'm sure John Schofield would do well at Leicester.

Frankly, I am glad Megson has gone. He was as much use as a chocolate teapot. I dont think he won the fans over all. Bolton was welcome to him.

The team were in dire straits before he (Megson) arrived and after a 6 week honeymoon, we are even deeper in the mire, having not even averaged a goal a game, with lack-lustre performances. Promotion is out of the window, now we are 17 points off the leaders, so it will be another bleak season, when the fans expected so much.

The suggestions of Ian Dowie as manager fills me with trepidation. He has achieved very little and has shown no loyality in the past. In fact there are no top name managers out there who I believe would consider moving to Leicester, now the role has been proven to be a poisioned chalice.

As for the likes of Paul Jewel, he's a possible, as it Stuart Pearce, but finding someone with the drive and passion to succeed who has a track record and who'll be a 'yes man' to Mandaric is an impossibility.

Martin Allen will not come back if what i have heard is true i cant say what on a public forum but if it got out i doubt he would get another job. This does not mean i don't want him back because i think he did us proud and at least showed us passion. Megson is a man with no self respect and lacks any respectability from his players. Even he looked like he couldnt be bothered against Sheff utd. Thank you Bolton for doing Leicester City a massive favour

It'll be interesting next season if Leicester stay in the same division & Bolton get relegated to see what sort of welcome Megson gets at the Walkers when they meet <yikes>

If he's still there of course <laugh>

Was disgusted whilst away last week to hear that Megson has left after only six weeks in charge. Good riddance to him I say. Why he was ever appointed manager in the first place is anyone's guess. When will Milan stop making a fool of this football club? A lot of fans were unhappy at Megson's arrival but being loyal decided to get behind him anyway, well how stupid must they feel now?

I dread to think where Milan who Milan will be going to for his next appointment. I agree with the comments about Martin Allen. He was the man.

I hope Gary Megson utterly fails at Bolton, he deserves it for being so disloyal.
