Should ban scratching your face aswell whilst driving, becuase thats just as dangerous as taking your hand off the wheel to have a puff of a fag.

You can still hold the wheel and a fag at the same time you know LOL!

Quite! Just as you can still have a bottle of water 'stored' on the lap or passenger seat between swigs but, if caught, you would get fined for actually drinking it whilst driving.

The Law can be a funny thing. ;)

Tettie-hat,

When driving a potential killing machine, you should be in complete control of the vehicle.
I dont think that road safety is a 'funny thing' at all <erm>

No Patsy. You're the funny one I see parked up at the traffic lights showing Red for 24 hours!
Pom off to do some dangerous walking while Patsy still lets me.

This posting has been hidden during moderation because it broke the House Rules in some way.

Fear not Lamby. The only danger I spot is the 4x4's and empty Arriva Buses, the only vehicles our Jack Russell thinks it's worth straining on the lead for to chase.
Pom is considering an abdo harness. Kinder on the wind and bark pipes.

I'm sorry, Patsy but I disagree. And its the Law that can be a funny thing and not road safety par se.

By Law we can be fined for taking a drink of water whilst the car is out of gear with the hand break on at a set of traffic lights. But, by Law, we can not be fined for lighting up a ciggie under the same circumstances.

The Law is inconsistant!

Don't count on it, sooner or later some jobsworth will be waiting to pounce.

So if your able to be fined for drinking a bottle of water with your engine running, hand brake on, out of gear at a set of traffic lights.

So how can a bus driver sit in a bus stop and take money off people ?

Think its all gone a bit OTT.

In fact, a tram, certainly "light" "rapid" transit is just a short train that isn't fenced off for most of it's length.

Please feel free to tell us how many fatalities per annum are caused by trams Bogush.
