Why do some of them moan so much..

In Russia
"One journalist was attacked because he wore an earring, which led nationalists to say he was gay.

Police intervened to arrest dozens of gay rights activists and only rarely detained their attackers"

Seeing it worse elsewhere is no reason to slow the pace of reform and toleration here.

Because minority groups in this country have had their confidence boosted so much by the "equality" nonsense they they're now getting so big headed they want elevated status which puts them above everyone else.

The best way for them to do this is cry "discrimination" and try make everyone tread on eggshells around them

I read that Tatchell got punched in the face, no doubt he will now be parading his black eye on TV. He is lucky he lives in this Country where we are more tolerant. Maybe attimes we are too tolerant for our own good.

this, i believe, pretty much sums up why there is so much resentment towards any minority group in Britain. its nothing to do with hatred or phobia but more to do with the minority groups wanting a special platform over and above the rest of us

before the shouting starts - bear in mind that the rest of us, if we're refused housing, jobs, social security, whatever, we can't claim the benefit of discrimination, we just have to accept we are not good enough for the job or there are no houses available or whatever

i think that's what annoys so many people

Too tolerant in what way? I am surprised the mods put up with you John.

no. its more to do with the fact that white hetro male has had everything to his advantage for decades, and now finally we are seeing minority groups have a bit of equality, and well white white-hetro-male man doesnt have it quite so cushy any more, and he will moan and complain, and play any card available at every oppurtunity.

The more nearly gays and other minorities are treated almost the same as everyone else the more ridiculous irrational and deeply offensive it is that they are not yet treated entirely like everyone else - JoP.

Jonboy. Do you really accept phyiscal violence,
because a person has a differing opinion to you?

Do you know the meaning of the word "facism?"

Chris. How dissapointing, as I thought you had more nounce. But you have proven me wrong mate. How sad to think I thought you had a broader aspect to life, and you turn out to be just another uninformed "person", as to what life is really about!

Every time I see Peter Tatchell on the telly I feel ever so sorry for him. Doesn't he look ill? He's so desparately thin these days.
I hope he hasn't contracted that illness that they get.

Is there a specific illness that politicians get then? (besides egomania)

Can anybody explain exaclty why gays should have it any harder than straight people? Why should we care what they get up to?

the only ones who care what gays get up to are those who secretly fantasize about it ;)

Oh bother, my posting got torn down.
I must have upset someone. If so I sincerely apologise. I really do.

Perhaps it was my 'close to the bone' comment about the serious subject of HIV and AIDS. Sorry if I might light of it - I shall not do that again. HIV and AIDS is a very serious subject.

You know its important to realise that AIDS and HIV can be prevented. Society can play their part in preventing the spread of HIV and AIDS by using a condom.

Certainly those that continue promiscous sexual behaviour while ignoring this advice should be criticised in some way. In fact those who are themselves HIV+ and continue having unsafe sex should be pillaried by society - would you not agree?

I think that might be my taxi. Why do the BBC post these stories and then get upset when people jump onto their own strap line.

Whoops mine's gone too. It wasn't meant to be offensive to gays (or politicians) it was meant as a response to the precceeding post, it can be hard to get the sardonic meaning across in the written word!
