Message 1 - posted by LeicesterHost_Kat, May 8, 2007 Three-year-old Madeleine McCann from Rothley in Leicestershire disappeared from a holiday apartment in Portugal on Thursday 03 May.
The Portuguese police are continuing to search for her, and vigils have been held in the county for Madeleine and her family.
If you would like to give a message of support to the McCann family, please write it here.

Minnie. Grumpy's post was sent to jury for carrying a similar vein to that of Cap'n Joachim's. I suspect Joachim's post will follow a similar fate shortly! |

In case you didn't know Portugal has eight hundred years of history as an independent sovereign nation and is the European nation with oldest borders. Easy if you're ignorant perhaps. Sorry, I do not mean to derail this thread but your comment is offensive. |

Message 17 - posted by Tettie-Hat, May 8, 2007 Capn
Shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted is a useless exercise.
Whatever anyone thinks of the parents actions or parenting skills leading up to the disappearance of this poor defensless child, does not alter the fact that there is now a terrified little girl out there somewhere lost and alone, crying out for her parents.
Have some compassion man. Leave your moral highground for another thread please!

Message 18 - posted by GrumpyOldGit, May 8, 2007 Sorry Capn - Although my post was negative, I don't think this is the right thread for comments like that.
I had hoped my post would be taken in the pointed but restrained manner that was intended. |

Message 19 - posted by bethanyb28, May 8, 2007 Capn - it is hardly fair to say people do not suffer for the outcomes of their decision - do you not think these poor parents are suffering more than you or I can ever imagine? This is not the time to focus on blame, it is a time to think and pray for a little girl lost and afriad.

Message 20 - posted by Norant, May 8, 2007 There has been threads on here that has attracted negative attention before, many of them. but i cannot think of one other that has attracted enough words of bile than that of the captains,we are all hoping for the same outcome and whether or not the parents should be villified for there actions is not up to us,that attention will focus on the courts. i personally think that the parents will learn a very big lesson from there error of judgement, and if the child is found safe and well she will probably live a life cosseted, and watched. to judge them with such harsh words is wrong, and you will get all that you deserve from the other board users, what you have said smacks of nothing but vile outpourings from a mind which quite frankly as far as i can tell knows no different. And before you ask i have three children one of which is three and no under no circumstances would i leave her unattended. that must mean i am perfect,right?..... |
