Like their water too. Once made my way from Clay Cross - synchronised swimming competition - over to Wrexham to pick up son from football. There were a lot of snowfall warning signs. Very scenic.
Pom appreciates the Peak District.

One place I have heard a lot about, but never visited (knowingly)is.....Borrowash. I often wonder how it should be pronounced!
I liked Chatsworth House at Christmas. Have you seen my photo on Tet's fan club page?<yikes>

Hi back at you bionicwhaley !

I used to have 'family' living and working in the Peak District, so went to visit on many occasions.
We used to stay in Buxton, which gave us easy access to Chinley, where the 'rellies' lived, and the surrounding areas.

We particularly enjoyed the caves and mines (I have several pieces of Blue John!!!)We also visited Eyam Hall, and I would love to go back there for a longer time for a good look around.

I also took the offspring to Matlock Bath a couple of times, and Alton Towers was accessible from Buxton, but we only went once, the highlight of the kids time, but not mine :-(

If my memory serves me right, there is an otter sanctuary not far from Buxton, that was a nice day out with some pleasant walking.

Yes, wonderful area, the Peaks, I do yearn to return sometime, and would love to 'do' Chatsworth, no amount of bribery or blackmail would work for the kids to tag along while I went there :-(

Pronounced Borrow-wash Ernest. Not in the Peak District though I'm afraid. Medium sized village about 5 miles as the crow flies fron Derby City centre, 3 pubs, 3 churches, small supermarket and numerous small shops including a very good butcher. One of the nicest message board posters grew up there and lives there still I believe:)

I used to, modestly, think I was one of the 'nicest message board posters' MIB004 (I daren't even complain about your lack of use of your membership number).
DTD230 and Mark013 have ganged up on me, though. I can take it on the chin, however. In fact, now I think about it - sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. If only that were true.:(
