Unfortunately our expectations were raised last year when we played well above ourselves and beat them. Let's face it, we could have easily lost that series. As it is we thought we were world beaters, and we're not. We are not geared up to compete with the likes of the Aussies, and the sooner we face up to it the better.
Maybe if Monty and Chris Read had played earlier.....

Winning them was an impertinence and slight fluke. Now we must meekly return them with a minimum of fuss. At least we will then know our place.

I shan't be staying up for the crucifixion even though it may take less time than a Floridadian execution.

We won back the Ashes by injuries and bad a bad decision by Ricky Pontin after winning the toss at Edgebaston. Oh yes the weather helped us too also Warneys missed catch from Peterson at the Oval.
Don't get me wrong I was over the moon that we won and believe me like lots of other folk I was on the edge of my seat watching on TV.

But after the poor performance against Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka should that have been a good indicator to Duncan Fletcher that we were not up to it.
Would we have done better if Vaughan was fit?
Andrew Flintoff is a great all rounder but whilst he is acting captain is actual play has suffered.
I hope we perform better in the one dayers.
Cheers
