Bazza

The focus with regards to this subject is always always on sex, emotional bonds never get a look in - that's not only deeply ignorant, it's very sad...

Hi davidldn1972 & Jaqu,

Hope your both well.

Im glad you both mention this fact, it amazes me how many people ignore the facts just to forward their own arguments.

People wont accept that human beings are a walking talking sex organ to begin with. I think sex in general disgusts them. The question is if anal sex wasnt meant to be pleasurable then maybe someone could explain the purpose of the 'U' spot.

M1556

Hi J

Just wanted to expand on a bit of a point you made. You're right many gay men do not have anal intercourse, however many do (as is with heterosexuals, many dont have anal intercourse, but also many do). What this highlights isnt the rightness or wrongness of the act but the inaccuracy of defining a whole social group by one specific sexual act.

I try to hammer this point home when I can but many just can't get past it...

(people like JoP and YC on this thread apparently)

4L3X - not too bad thanks and yourself?

just call David well David, like I do, although I have known him for sometime, which is why he calls me J and is the only one who is allowed to get away with it ;)

David has mentioned the talk about sex here and nothing about the emotional bonds or true love.

I have often wondered that too, why do so many Christians get so uptight over sex? Making love as against just sex is a wonderful gift to give your partner and it often seals one's love for each other.

In the Bible (at least in the Hebrew scriptures) God is often portrayed as a Husband, who loves and cares and in the Song of Songs as a Lover.

Therefore in our lovemaking we are echoing the Divine Love and longing for Unity.

I think I know what you mean by the U Spot but I haven't heard it called that before.

The NORMAL relationship is a MALE and a FEMALE, their love creats new life and the species continues. Any other relationship is ABNORMAL.

I see John and are you saying the relationship I have with God is abnormal?

That, surely, depends what gendre, if any, you believe god is. In the Bible he is portrayed as MALE, and refered to as 'The father'. I doubt however, although he may have done it once before, if there would be any issue resulting.
Now do try to be more serious, there is a group of persons who wish their activities to be sancioned by holy writ, and depite over 1500 messages, it has failed to do so. God loves the person but hates sin. Sin drive the person from God. Only true repentance will bring them back.

God is sexless, no gender. He is described in human terms because we cannot comprehend His Being.

I am becoming annoyed ( a rarity for me) with the many self-righteous posts in this thread, people banding about Bible verses to suit their own ends to justify their own behaviour. So intent on proving how right they are and forcing others to live in a way they would not for one minute stand for, if it was applied to them.

They forget that Jesus accepted them as they are, that they are forgiven but they refuse the same right for others implying that by their lifestyle they are not worthy. Yet were in the Gospels does it say this? He loved, so we must love too.

Instead of being so concerned with others behaviour it is time they examined their own, first checking that the beam they see so clearly in others eyes, is not a reflection of the log in their own.

Hi Jacqui,

I can't believe this thread is still going! Don't let these people annoy you, they are the sort of people who will always interpret things in the way they want them to be instead of keeping an open mind.

As you know, I am not a religious person but would not want to show any disrepect to anyone who wishes to believe. That includes selectively taking words form your holy book and twisting them to mean something other than their original meaning.

You and I both know that, if people want to, they will take something out of context and blow it up larger than life.

Seems to be a national sport these days......

it's ok stevetaal - I took a deep breath <smiley>

Whether you believe or not is not the point, what matters is respect of people.

but I suppose I had better keep my head down tomorrow ;)

Frankly Jacqui, I would stay well away from this thread because everything that there is to be said has been done to death - it's worse than the repeats on TV!!! I was only passing by.

The trouble is, I can't stand by and watch people be brow-beaten by those who think they are better than others.

Nor can I stand by and watch the Bible being so mis-used.

However Gorilla asked me a question and I need time to think about the answer, so I might stop away from the thread and come back once I have sorted out the answer.

Morning Jaqui, yes Jesus forgave us our sins, but he said "Sin no more". It seems many on this board want their cake and eat it. He may well 'forgive' the homosexual, but only if they remain celibate and sin no more.

Who will carry the torch for you when you are promoted to that great heterosexual ghetto in the sky?

And how will you cope when you find that it is a reflection of real life and knee deep in people of all sexual orientations and practices?

JoP

Guess what? I can have my cake and eat it. I can have sex with men and God won't care one jot about it, he'll love me much as he loves you matey. You believe to the contrary but ultimately it doesnt matter, what God thinks is the important thing.

P.S. I dont believe in a God of hate, maybe that is the big difference between you and I ;-)

Grand old world innit? <biggrin>

Shame on whoever tried to censor the link in my M1563. I'm glad the BBC saw that this link wasnt offensive - it was meant as a counter to all the Exodus links that get posted here (which I find very offensive but dont complain about).

Of course god is portrayed as MALE, as the bible was written by MEN, who in those times treated WOMEN as second rate.

Notice how the all the hero's and main stories in the bible are MEN ?

Im supprised you have the time to post whine messages these days what with more TV channels on SKY to write to and complain about.
