you don't know how lucky you are to live in such a beautiful area. the people are more friendly and laid back and that's a rarity in this country.Try living in london or another BIG city for more than a few weeks. then you'll not complain. it's a thriving city too with lots going for it. Be grateful!

Ha ! I like it: a person with an ironic sense of humour - it's wonderful to see that you have your tongue firmly placed in your cheek. Of course it's not friendly or beautiful. And I agree with you that it is NOT more firendly than London.

Nice one

Norfolk is a lovely county. Had many a holiday there. Love all the windmills and churches dotted about the countryside. The Broads are great and getting a blast of wind from the North Sea is fantastic. Not many people I know like the flat terrain but I do. <magic>

It would appear you'd gotten yourself lost gemini and in fact you were in Holland.

Now that is a lovely place but some of those cafes are full of dopes.

My issue with many towns is that the residents perceive them as dumps or poorly serviced, etc. Yet when any governing body tries to change/improve things, the people are just not interested. They literally can't be bothered to attend meetings, write letters, send e-mails or make telephone calls to offer their input or point of view.

I know - I have tried to get local people interested in their own community. They would rather sit in their homes and moan, than do anything - anything at all - that requires effort, to make changes.

So, if you want to make a change to the coverage, then do something about it.

I think you are wrong Arthurius. My partner is from Kings Lynn, West Winch to be exact. It is a lovely little village, granted there are some areas in Kings Lynn that need upgrading but generally it is a nice town.

We live in Liverpool (no wise crack jokes please I've heard them all before!) As this is a big city it is bound to have its fair share of problems and last time I was in Nofolk I noticed how secluded the place was and how spacious the towns were. When I came home I realised that in these big cities we really do live on top of one another.

I also feel there is more of a community spirit in the villages of Norfolk, where I live there is no community and for that reason I'd like to live in Norfolk, although only if I could take the beautiful Liverpool waterfront with me.

Are you sure you're not describing the people of Cornwall, not to generalise but there's a County with a bit of a chip on its shoulder.

We;re new to norfolk(hence the username) but so far it seems pretty good, the only thing missing is a regular and varied programme of pub quizzes.

I live in the Merseyside area, but travel to Norfolk for camping holidays from time to time, we usually visit the areas between Kings Lynn and Cromer, Its absolutely beautiful, there's so much to see and so much to do, I love Kings Lynn for its history and (some) of its architecture, I agree with Scousemouse parts of it needs upgrading, especially those flats that surround that old church (the ones just down the road from the old library, they need flattening). I'd still find it a wrench to move away from Liverpool tho.

I think you're working undercover for the Norfolk Tourist Office, just waiting for us all to rally and say nice things!

Aah Norfolk. What wonderful memories I have of holidays there and weekends away. Ice cold winds even in summer and the fair at Great Yarmouth. Great times.<ok> The choppy North Sea, the Hall of Mirrors, what a grin.

People like yourself remind me of the time when I lived in the Norfolk Countryside.Hordes of Londoners came to settle there and brought their own brand of "peasant mentality" with them.I recall a certain flat faced cockney and his stupid comment "Christ, wheres the f- Indians?" as he passed the most beautiful oak tree wood that one could find. GO AWAY LITTLE MAN!
