Message 1 - posted by manc-host1, Nov 18, 2005 Roy Keane has left Manchester United by mutual consent, but is it the right decision for either the club or the player? What will it mean to United to lose their captain and what will Keane do now? |

Message 3 - posted by 1nceablu, Nov 18, 2005 So another big name leaves the Reds after falling out with Fergie, this started with Stam and has included Beckham and all the time the supporters seem to back Fergie. Is it me, or has he been a truly great show, that's proving now that he's been on far, far too long? |

Message 4 - posted by billpollard, Nov 18, 2005 Alfie Haarland.........oh dear; no control, a kicker & nothing else, couldn't pass water, & by the way it was the other leg! Never let the facts get in the way of reality! Dont get bitter, you've got a free council house ( do the Audit Commission not know about the brothers Bernstein?), your own radio station in GMR - it's so Blue-nosed - & a 2lb bag of McCains to carry on each shoulder for at least another 30 years.
Well done, Roy, it's been a privilege |

Message 5 - posted by Its all because lemons are yellow., Nov 18, 2005 Awww, bless, you really are upset aren't you? As for the 2lbs of McCains, how can a red (the 'queens' of chips on shoulders) say that? The poorest, most bitter and vitriolic ungracious losers known to man (Worse than Tonya Harding) say we have a chip on our shoulders. Mr. Keane was, however the cleverest of United players declaring correctly that United 'fans' go to the ground for a day trip and eat their prawn sandwiches. I bet you've never even been to see them have you? Are you even a manc? |

Message 7 - posted by ronnell_uk, Nov 18, 2005 I wish Keane all the best.
He's been THE United player of the 90's, first half of this decade. The guy had grit and wasn't afraid to speak his mind, all the hallmarks of United's greatest ever Captain (in my humble, of course).
Though his temper could be brought into question, the fact that he spoke his mind and never kow-towed to the board rank alongside his footballing abilities. |

Message 8 - posted by anto1966, Nov 19, 2005 inge haaland didnt have much of a career anyway. i always find that man city fans are always most critical of man utd and this roy keane debate is just another way of trying to put man utd down. all i can say is he was a brilliant player a man who spoke is mind and was a credit to watch him play. ps. i live in manchester i am a manc i dont eat prawn sandwiches and go to watch them as much as i can. and i take it you can go to watch city so much as you like because there are so many empty seats. TERRIBLE TO HATE A TEAM BECAUSE OF ITS SUCCESS |

Message 9 - posted by salford7red, Nov 19, 2005 It's been a privilege watching Keane at United. However all good things must come to an end and I think his best days are behind him. All these knobs saying it's the end of Utd etc are talking through their backsideds, the same things were being said when we lost Hughes Catona etc. The fact is we will go on and maybe it will give other players to express themselves more....... wonder when Smith will kiss the badge!(ala Lampard-pass the bucket) |

Glory hunter? First game I went to - 26th December 1974 v West Brom. United were then in the old Division 2, which makes me hardly a glory hunter. Number of games I've been to?....more than you without a doubt sonny! |

Message 13 - posted by Dwaine Benzie , Nov 21, 2005 Ahh liddle citeh fans, all is not well in your Stockport suburbs it seems. Fair enough Keano's challenge on Haaland was out of order, but it was his other dodgy peg that ended his career... and it's funny how many of your fans are getting excited about the (ridiculous) rumour that he might be joining you! Best of luck Roy |

So you and every other man city fan go to "all" the games? With that in mind do you agree that there is only 38,000 man city fans in the universe? Please dont talk rubbish. Must say I've been privledged to watch a great player like Roy Keane. I think Roy did the right thing to publicly criticise the players as they were playing like donkeys and did not deserve to wear the red and white of Man United. I hope Roy Keane has a couple of seasons left in him and turns to management. Hes a great leader. |

An idot that knows nothing... okay personally i think this is a gender issue! because I am female you seem to think that we dont know about football... Well we do! Saying that he was a credit to the team and a lose is a fair comment to make! whats the issue with that? why does that make me an idoit? United definately are missing Roy. He has been the biggest influence to the team over the past decade. he epitomises the hunger and fire for success that should be in every footballers heart. He plays like a fan would expect to play. It has never been about money for Keano, unlike some of his former team mates. This Irish man has true heart and loves the battle on the football pitch. If Roy were English he would be Knighted now. He doesn't have a fancy hair style nor does he seek publicity for everything he does. He is a born leader and United are rueing his absence right now. Neville is not a captain nor is Rio Ferdinand. Only roony comes anywhere near Keano's professionality. But he has a very very very long way to go to match the most perfect midfielder in the modern game. |

Message 20 - posted by patagualian, Mar 24, 2006 Whatever is written above regarding Roy: One thing certainly rung true, G.Neville is no Captain. His childish tantrum at not being awarded a "penalty" during the Carling Final was a disgrace to the game: For a player of his standing, wearing the captains armband, with his team 4-up: For all Roys "faults" you could never list that pathetic behaviour as one of them. By the way, I am a Red too: I just don't wear the blinkers. (Nor carry the key-ring!) |
