Well not really that crazy temperature wise (the 80's farenheit afterall is pretty much what we'd expect for July) but it's the humidity! phew..

So I succumbed and got a mobile air conditioner for my bedroom. I was a bit sceptical. £200 for something big, electrical and bulky..it isn't a lot and I wandered if it would do much good..

Alas, it seems to make quite a difference. i'm in a "box room" bedroom so the heat in here seems to get trapped in very easily - add to that my electrical equipment like the pc..I do have two fans (a ceiling fan and a desktop fan, plus a small water spray/fan and a window that opens very wide) but even so, i was so hot last night in bed.

I'm not sure - i think they dropped the temperature in here to around 72F (although I am not sure as it felt a little cooler than that after a while). Certainly cooler than the other rooms in the house.

Only prob is the noise (they are very noisy) and also the electric bills..looks like i'll be paying me mum extra for a bit..but its cool (boom boom).
