comment by Daniel Etherington Feb 1, 2005As far as I know, the European release date of World of Warcraft is still TBC, so 25 Feb is conjecture.
comment by rowan Feb 1, 2005Sorry!
comment by Daniel Etherington Feb 1, 2005hehe.
comment by Irrepressible Stone Monkey Feb 2, 2005Particularly as the release date is now confirmed as Feb 11th (http://www.blizzard-europe.com/press/050202.shtml)...

comment by Daniel Etherington Feb 3, 2005yeah, I was meaning to post that. All I can say is "Yay!".
comment by Daniel Etherington Feb 11, 2005I'm not saying "Yay" just now though, more like "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"
Today's the big day and.... you can't access the account set-up pages on the Blizzard site. Nice one Blizzard - really learned a lesson from the US launch then. You'd think they made enough money and had enough experience from the launch elsewhere they could set up enough servers here. I'm upset.
comment by Daniel Etherington Feb 11, 2005They've posted this:
"We are aware that some players are facing problems when creating their accounts, especially with regards to the process of payment validation. Due to the heavy load on the system, we are therefore forced to take those pages down temporarily. While the pages are down, those players who have already created an account can continue playing the game. We are investigating the situation and will come back to you with more information as soon as we have it."
*weeps quietly in the corner*
