Fatter, funkier, more productive.

Belle And Seb are back with possibly their best and certainly most joyously eclectic album yet. As usual, they are unbothered by what the current sonic trends are and confidently swagger off down their own, fairly timeless musical avenue. This time they are fatter, funkier and wearing air hostess hats. Recorded in the clement weather of LA under the evident influence of producer Tony Hoffer (Beck, Air), The Life Pursuit is breezy, sunny and willing to embrace things like that squelchy, springy keyboard sound that Stevie Wonder used to use. Its still Belle And Sebastian though, with wittily observant lyrics set to melodies that veer alarmingly close to twee without quite crossing the line. Fans will love it and the previously unconvinced may change their mind.
