Wailing babies.

Given that much garage rock is so one dimensional you suspect that it would disappear if viewed sideways on, it’s a relief that The Beautiful New Born Children offer something more full-bodied. Their commitment to uncomplicated, three chord thrills isn’t in doubt, but they also bring art-rock textures to the mix, sounding at times like Pavement played by the MC5. There are still those who will find their tightly-wound ramalama - clocking in at just 24 minutes - a little unrelenting, but live and loud it’s hard to deny a considerable contact high.
