No tights or silly hats with feathers. Classic cult tv now on DVD. "Robin! The Hooded Man!" Michael Praed may look like a bit of a girlie mincer, and he may hang out in the woods with his mates a lot, but he's no pushover. Hurtling through Sherwood Forest to a Clannad soundtrack, his Pantene Pro-V locks aflowing, to steal from the rich, etc, etc. This second collection from the popular TV series also features a gurning Ray Winstone as Will Scarlet, and that bloke out of Holby City as Little John. Robin of Locksley gets his sword out on occasion and does battle with the slitty-eyed Sir Guy of Gisburne and, of course, the Sheriff of Nottingham. This instalment features Flemish mercenaries and an enchantress. As expected, our hero's designer bandit garb never gets so much as a crease, while Maid Marion stays at home and does the dishes. But no matter. This is top-notch telly, from the days when school holidays were always hot and sunny, and seemed to last for months. What's for tea mum?
