Guy Pierce loses his memory. Backwards. On DVD. Mostly overlooked by the viewing public on its theatrical release, this frustrating, but ultimately fantastic film stars Mike from Neighbours, trying to find out who killed his wife. He took a bump to the head, and now has severe short-term memory problems. Bouncer needs feeding, and he can't remember where his put the tin-opener. The film runs backwards, in short segments and Mike has to photograph everything and tattoo himself all over with information he needs to remember. Memento is a traditional thriller, presented in an innovative way. The film twists and turns and you're not sure who you can trust. You have to put the film together in your head, in order, as you go along, which can cause adverse side-affects. It's a great tale well told and the DVD's extra features allow you to rearrange the film in chronological order. I think there's also the usual stuff, like a documentary and a commentary, but I can't really remember... RB 31 May 02 Memento is out now on widescreen DVD useful link: www.otnemem.com
