Roadtrip recording. Although actually a diary of summer 2004, piss-bottlin’ across the American South, the first live album from Will Oldham neatly bookends this year with January’s Matt Sweeney collaboration - Superwolf. The highlight of that album, Beast For Thee, retains its devotional power while Oldham standards are transfigured, made rangy and lean. Master And Everyone is particularly rocking. Despite fossilizing goofy quips and beery heckles from players and audience alike, this is a trip. Bonnie Prince Billy – Summer In The Southeast, released 07 November 05 on Drag City.
