Life after electroclash. Whilst often unfairly lumped in with the wilfully amateurish “stars” of the unmourned electroclash scene, Ladytron always had a little more to them than 80s haircuts and blank sloganeering. Behind those deadpan vocals and retro synths lay songwriting talent strong enough to carry them through to where they stand today - trouncing the curse of the difficult third album with a glistening collection of Cocteau Twins-inflected electro-pop that manages to make a jet-setting, hedonism-powered lifestyle sound like the most darkly glamorous thing on Earth.
