Hit the north.

Field Music were formed by The Futureheads’ original drummer, Peter Brewis, but don’t worry: we’re not dealing with a North-Eastern version of the Pete Best band, here. For if Brewis and his brother Andrew bear any bitterness, it isn’t apparent in these sweetly shambolic tunes. Nor do they share the other Sunderlanders’ stripped-down sound, for while their lyrics are clearly inspired by the kitchen sink, Luck Is A Fine Thing – with its string flourishes and oompah-oompah interlude – sounds like they’re trying to squeeze one into the music as well.
