webslinky: self-improvement
This week, help yourself.

In previous years, self-improvement happened in two ways: you “pulled yourself up by your bootstraps” on psychological issues and “got on with it” with work issues. Times changed and nowhere more extremely than on the internet where there is more advice to make you a better person than there is material unsuitable for people under the age of 18. Of course, much of it costs, so here’s a free guide to improving your beautiful self. Plus, you get to avoid those weird motivational gurus.

Teach Health has been visited by over 4m tetchy people since launching, and is a one-stop shop for those getting weighed down with the various stresses of modern life. Knowing what stresses you is half the battle in making it go away, it would seem. You can even listen to music, which may or may not decrease your stress levels.

A little more esoteric is World Transformation’s Learning To Channel page where you can learn to channel your higher spirit – in an alarmingly practical and easy way according to the directions – and thus give yourself a better understanding/overview of the world around you. Then, of course, you have the stress of wondering what it all means.

SolveYourProblem.com seems bent on solving all your problems, ranging from acne and debt to job interview fears. Once you wade past the sponsored links there’s good practical advice to be had. Feeling better yet?

Eserver.org’s philosophy page is a little more bookish, offering links galore to great philosophical texts through the ages. Knowledge will always set you free, goes the old adage. If, however, your problems are more fiscal then visit Free Financial Advice, a free impartial advice site to guide you out of the hell those enticing little plastic cards put you in.

Having said all this you could just try pulling a leisurely Monday sickie from work. Answer Bank has a few suggestions. Weekend heatstroke sounds pretty convincing to us.
