THIS BOOK WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE!
i was in waterstones 'mind, body and spirit' section when it happened. i was searching for the next 'quick fix' book that would help me get through the next year of my life. as i was pondering over the mish mash of books titled with such things as 'an angel a day' and 'the art to happiness', i found myself attracted to a young guy who had his head stuck so far into a book, i could barely see his face. i tried, in stiff manner, to overlook his shoulder and see the title, and just before i nearly crossed the line of normal human space invasion to down right pervy, he turned, as if in slow motion to reveal the title 'what should i do with my life?' the perfect title to my on going dilemma! it was as if fate herself had engineered the whole process! immediately, i found the book (the last copy, i might add) and bought it without even reading the blurb. little did i know that this book had the power to change my life. at only 7.99, a book of this importance is practically being given away!
this book is a journey into the lives of many. it claws out missions of self discovery from normal people to famous people and lays their lives bare for all to see. there are many people involved in this book, and each persons story is a chapter no more than 5 pages long and you dont have to read them in any order. each section includes a photograph of the character answering the ultimate question 'what should i do with my life?'.
the stories are charming, real and sometimes unsuccessful. the stories include the likes of an investment banker who gave up his lucrative job to be a catfish farmer, a girl who was offered a double salary and quit on the spot to become a gardener and a man in his sixties who decided to become a lawyer. it also includes those that have got as far as the question and no further, those that are still searching and those that gambled everything on a hunch, including the author himself.
the language is easy and fluent and you end up reading half the book on the spot. a beautiful reminder to grab onto your dream and never let go, no matter how hard it gets.
all audiences can relate to this soul soothing book, whether you have attained your dream or are still searching for that perfect job. it is a gentle, funny reminder from others how to use your heart and not your head when making important life decisions.
trust me, you will love the book!
p.s i quit my job to follow my dream after reading this book and it saved my life! i now have more than i could ever dream of and i live with a sparkle in my eye and a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart....buy it!
