Kaleidoscopic indie from down under. Hailing from a Larrikin backwater on Australia’s Gold Coast, Gaslight Radio’s two brothers have produced an extraordinary, escapist debut. Z-Nation is a delight that draws parallels with the kaleidoscopic indie rock of Mercury Rev and The Flaming Lips. Surfing gleaming waves of guitar and epic 10-storey choruses, these dozen tracks range from everyday sketches to intergalactic wig outs. Languid and dozy, The Cosmic Gun is a cotton-headed lament, while The Telescope Breakdown 1988 sparks with innocent exuberance. An uncommon treat. Gaslight Radio – Z-Nation, released 08 November 04 on Love & Mercy.
