Enjoyable vintage synth project from seasoned rave king. When tired of making choons, Fatboy Slim picked up a guitar. But Andy Meecham, the man behind seminal ravers Bizarre Inc and acid revivalists Chicken Lips, has followed a different path, going back to the future on his debut album as The Emperor Machine. Using vintage equipment and 70s production techniques, he conjures a naïve spacey future (which would be ideal for Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow 2). With titles like Watching Flying Body Parts, his buoyant blend of electro, dub, disco and drama is undeniably in a world of its own. The Emperor Machine - Aimee Tallulah Is Hypnotised, released 25 October 04 on DC Recordings.
