To really capture this bands sound you have to put an orchestra, rock band and a DJ into a blender and you’re still not even an iota there. The Go! Team create a massive wall of sound with many instruments weaving through the chaos, such as a piano mashed up with a guitar, which is blended with a flute which is complemented by a DJ’s scratching. This is really an update of what Phil Spector and Brian Wilson tried to do but (and I may sound like a wanker by saying this) they never really achieved to the heights The Go! Team have. This is truly an important album. I have a feeling that in the future some bands will try to emulate this type of sound or maybe attempt to as these guys have gotten there first!
