To listen to this album is to enter a peculiar world where logic is fractured and the plot is more twisted than the most complex film noir you can imagine. Lyrically Flipron show deft touches of morbid humour. This is the house band of Papa Lazarou's circus straight from Royston Vasey. Musically the instrumentation is sparse which adds to the sense of wry menace and Jesse Budd sounds a weary dissolute rake. The whole tone suits the black humour of the whole piece. It is the most amusing and lyrically clever album I've heard this year.
