A long, intricate and deleightful series

The wheel of time series is an amazing, intricate series that spans a huge number of books (10 and counting). It follows the tale of Rand al'thor as he quests towards the last battle (tarmon gaidon).
To explain further would be to ruin the book so I'll leave it at this. The series is not one to be missed by anyone that enjoys the fantasy genre. At the very least read the first book then make up your mind.
