Luke Vibert’s alter ego comes out to play. The King of kitschtronica is back. Luke Vibert, prolific music maker, prankster and mate of the mighty Aphex, wheels out his trademark Wagon Christ tricks in an album bursting with squiggly basslines, funky electronic blips and addictive sub bass. Sorry I Make You Lush is Vibert’s fluffiest offering yet, samples of kiddies at play mingle with swathes of lush organ sounds, sugar-coated synth melodies and just the faintest rumblings of drill and bass. Not as musically excellent as other Vibert outings, but technically tuned to perfection and breathtakingly subtle, this album makes perfect listening for a dreamy summer’s day. Wagon Christ – Sorry I Make You Lush, released 21 June 04 on Ninja Tune.
