 to access audio and video on collective you need real player.Punk-funk heaven from New York. On first listen, this second album from the seven-strong NYC punk-funkateers sounds like they’ve composed and recorded the entire LP on a bad acid trip. Kings Weed is a mere minute and a half of tribal funk freakery which segues into nearly eight minutes of Hello Is This Thing On?, encompassing the industrialism of Throbbing Gristle backed by comatose vocals that rise to a paranoid incantation of epic proportions. If you persevere, !!!’s ambition and lack of structure might just grow on you. That or the tweaked out bleeps, guitar twangs and sax squiggles will drive you to the comfort of a silent padded cell.
