The King Of Convenience gets his kicks. The latest in !K7’s DJ Kick series comes courtesy of Erlend Øye, one half of Kings Of Convenience, voice of Röyksopp, solo artist, DJ and all-round good egg. If you’ve ever had the good fortune to see him DJ then you won’t be surprised to hear that many of the tracks on this compilation feature our Norwegian friend adding his own vocal flourishes. A high point being a particularly special fusion of Röyksopp’s Poor Leno remix with an Erlend-style a cappella of The Smiths’ There Is A Light That Never Goes Out. There’s a pretty good choice of tracks too, including Cornelius, Phoenix and The Rapture. Erlend Øye – DJ Kicks, released 16 April 04 on !K7.
