Yes!Here’s a “late night tale” for you. What if Balearic house hadn’t been a Damascene revelation for Oakenfold and co in 80s Ibiza, but for Rick Wakeman off his nuts in a Norwegian disco instead? Because that what Scandinavian disco cosmonaut Lindstrom’s “after hours” compilation sounds like. Misty-eyed moments such as Dusty Springfield’s Baby Blue and Carly Simon’s Why? are submerged in proto-electro, weird synths and progressive rock from 70s jazz-fusion musicians like George Duke and Pekka Pohjola on a truly psychedelic mix, ideal for dancing beneath topographic oceans.
Lindstrom - Late Night Tales, released 02 July 07 on Azuli
