squarepusher 'ultravisitor'

Special guests but no concessions.

Tom Jenkinson is an exceptional Essex man. His 1996 mutant breakbeat debut, Feed Me Weird Things, saw him hailed as a musical hero by those who prefer the sound of computers freaking over a good tune. Featuring Tommib, his contribution to the Lost In Translation soundtrack, his ninth album is released with props from The Neptunes, Thom Yorke and Outkast. Despite upping the melody and starting superbly, this complex blend of jazz, drum’n’bass and techie mischievousness makes no pop concessions to his famous fans or their followers. (7/10) Anna Chapman 05 March 04

Squarepusher – Ultravisitor, released 08 March 04 on Warp.
