Big Fish
by: Martis84  Wednesday 21 January 2004
I have just seen an example of the quality of film-making around today. Tim Burton's Big Fish is enormously fun and heart-warming with great performances by Albert Finney, Ewan McGregor and Bill Crudup. The story may seem confusing and fantastical but hey! this is the movies!

The storytelling of the film is compelling. Its in segments to give you sometime to get your head around the story and then you are ready for more. Before, I was sceptical about the film but seeing it free, thanks to Film 2004, I would have paid double if I had known it was this good!

All in all its a love story with humour, sadness and fantasy. Its got a great cast and Tim Burton returns to form. Got to give it 4/5; not the best film recently (see Last Samurai) but a great example of how to tell a story. Hollywood should sit up to watch and learn!
