The graphic adventures of a mouse.
…in which our dauntless rodent hero, drawn in 30s comic strip style, takes on life, love, loss and death in stoic cartoon fashion. This is a beautiful collection of early work from the award-winning author of Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid On Earth. Ware’s sometimes exhausting experimentation with form means that each page is like a maze to be navigated by the reader in search of meaning. However, s/he is amply rewarded for the effort, as the author’s achingly melancholic humour colours each of the hapless mouse’s adventures.
