Discovery gets a second chance. Daft Punk’s second album, Discovery, managed to alienate many old fans (eg, me) and gain many new ones (eg, my mum) at the same time. Its kitschy pop naggings have been reworked here by "the finest contemporary musical minds", including Basement Jaxx, The Neptunes, Gonzales and the DP boys themselves. There are quality tracks, notably Demon’s mix of Face To Face and Slum Village’s Aerodynamic, but there’s not a whole lot to get excited about. Roll on the next album. (6/10) Alastair Lee 28 November 03 Daft Punk - Daft Club, released 01 December 03. Also available twinned with Interstella 5555 DVD.
