The morning after the night before. After Arab Strap's snot-nosed, boozy farewell, Aidan Moffat seeks solace in his L. Pierre alias. This - in Moffat's word's – “gentle and lovely” suite is bookended by field recordings of the sea, and these tracks are like a dip in the briny after a personal best hangover. Treated vocals and a mute trumpet ebb and swell with only Hike's frantic, courtly strings and frazzled electro to disrupt the calm. As lush and expansive as his former work was taut and aggro - only the quality remains. L. Pierre - Dip, released 11 January 07 on Melodic.
