The lyricist hobo. One of the UK’s most feared battle-rappers (witness the notorious YouTube video in which he “merks” ex-So Solid man Asher D to within an inch of his life), the potty-mouthed Stig Of The Dump proves on this perfectly-formed mini album that there’s more to him than whiplash punchlines and crushing put-downs. Travelling with a boozy swagger but endlessly charming with it, The Homeless Microphonist is a reminder that all you really need to make thrilling hip-hop is a dirty funk sample and a gobshite verbal gymnast. Stig Of The Dump - The Homeless Microphonist, released 30 October 06 on Beer and Rap.

Fantastic - I hadn't heard much of Stig before, but i'm liking what I hear.He does remind me of MC Pitman a bit though! |
