Mozarty party. Formed at a club night at London's Cargo where they regularly had punters raving away to some rinsing cello riffs, this 45-piece orchestra haven’t quite managed to capture their live magic on their debut album. But it still proves that attempts at making classical music “trendy” needn’t be haunted by the spectre of Nigel Kennedy. Largely because their self-penned compositions owe as much to the elaborate disco arrangements of The Salsoul Orchestra as they do to Mozart, with some funky breakbeats thrown in to shake things up. The Heritage Orchestra - The Heritage Orchestra, released 21 August 06 on Brownswood Recordings.
