Brilliantly understated scuzzy electronic folk. Matt Harding sits alone in his bedroom with his four-track and makes music that is everything Daniel Bedingfield isn’t - sexy, understated and elegant. Plus it makes me feel like I’m back in my mum’s womb. He combines the spacious electronics of Cornelius with scuzzy folk country, making it sound like the most natural thing in the world. Leave It Up To You is a hazy, lazy coo of a song – all reverbed harmonicas and morphine-glazed vocals - while his bruised instrumentals are both haunting and celestial (Afternoons In December). This LP marks him out as a truly auspicious talent.
