Teenage riot. Meeting through MySpace, OBTN’s John-Michael Foss (18), Joshua Bertram (16) and Chas Knapp (16) had never been in the same room together before playing their first gig. Almost as astonishingly, this debut album was sewn together from parts emailed between the trio - yet it feels like the synergistic work of a "real”, if mildly unhinged band. There’s a fizzing blend of electronics, found sounds and hazy melody: Catalpa’s torrent of multi-delayed dulcimers interleave spookily with ethereal vocals à la Múm, while the equally unsettling yet captivating Octopodidae fillets Pachelbel’s Canon In D, no less. Our Brother The Native - Tooth & Claw, released 19 June 06 on Fat Cat.
