The Chemical Brothers – The Golden Path (Virgin)
Tom and Ed are celebrating a decade of bigbeat grooves with a singles compilation. But, in order to make it an attractive proposition to those who already own all of their fine back catalogue, they’re including two new tracks, the first of which hits the shops this week and features the furry-animal, fake-blood loving Wayne Coyne. There are no surprises - it sounds exactly like The Chemical Brothers meets The Flaming Lips, which is exactly what it is.

A fantastic debut single from four Glaswegians. This lot are certainly ones to watch and come across like The Strokes in a drinking competition with The Stranglers.
Muse – Time Is Running Out (East West)
The majestic rockers are back with this cheery number that’s classic Muse: thumping bass, soaring guitars and Bellamy’s whiny drawl. The album’s out in a couple of weeks.
The Robocop Krause – Fashion (L’Age d’Or)
The trend for Robert Smith-style vocals continues with this piece of German souped-up mod punk, fit for the dancefloor. It’s soon to be followed by an album.
The Bandits – 2 Step Rock (Centro del Blanco)
The latest chunk of punchy rock/pop to come from the vibrant Liverpool scene, from the curators of the near legendary Bandwagon night. They release their album next week.
