Metal music machine. This Japanese power trio possess a lurking sense of Metal traditionalism, producing a scabrous wall of guitar noise, crunching, dense and turgid. It's a constipated strain, as their great mass of beautifully layered fuzz oozes forth. Is drummer Atsuo completely serious when he gives the sign of Beelzebub and points his sticks to the heavens? Quite possibly. Takeshi plays a two-necked beast, but most of the spiralling guitar solos are provided by Wata. A dreamy drone pervades, frequently rearing up into a primordial rifferama. The epic finale sounds like a priest holding down organ notes with his unconscious head. Boris – Pink, released 15 May 06 on Southern Lord.
