Gentle, rustic Parisian folktronica. Like Boards Of Canada, Parisienne Cecile Schott makes music for the darker moments of childhood. Not the whimsical days in the sun but the long nights fearing the monsters under the bed. She largely eschews electronics, however, preferring to craft her melancholy moods from glockenspiel, guitar and rustic sounds. This album’s slow but graceful progression is reminiscent of arthouse cinema - not just in the beauty of its composition but also because you can go for a fag halfway through without worrying that you’re going to miss something happening.
