bonnie 'prince' billy - happy child/ forest time
by: imsogreen ( in search of music related quotes )  Thursday 19 June 2003
( audio : 28/01/2003 , label : drag city/ palace )
--------------------------------------------------------
single released at the same time as his 'master and everyone' album, featuring two non-album tracks.

the moods of these two songs seem to clash with one another, but they are linked by the their themes. 'happy child' expresses the emotions of burying the loved one who has past away (broke up/ real death), whereas 'forest time' speaks of feeding the memory of the loved one.

'forest time' is a slow soothing acoustic/strings ballard, it's beautiful, like a lullaby sung to a child before going to bed. the electronic tweak and textures in 'happy child' is not very innovative, but his interpretation of the song fits it perfectly.
