Irreversible (2002)
It’s embarrassing having to write a review about Irreversible because it is genuinely the greatest film ever made. No joke, no exaggeration, no nothing. If you haven’t seen it then this is going to sound ridiculous. But buy it, watch it, emerge and realise that you’ve never seen a film that even threatens to match its power, that everything you’ve ever watched before is at best mediocre, that everything you watch after it will be disappointing, and that everything you know about cinema is wrong. Extras Alternate scenes, featurettes, trailer, notes.

Romper Stomper (1992)
Russell Crowe as a thuggish headcase, dishing out beatings to those who disagree with his views or stand in his way? Sounds like the Hazard Of Oz’s recent real-life headlines, but this is actually the disturbing neo-Nazi expose - Melbourne skinheads venting their rage on the local Vietnamese community - that brought him to prominence over a decade ago. Massively controversial on its release, for making the racist rhetoric as persuasive as the ferocious brutality, it’s a potent can of Australian History XXXX. Extras Trailer, gallery.

Changing Lanes (2002)
This was director Roger Michell’s bizarre follow-up to the appallingly twee Notting Hill. WASP lawyer Ben Affleck and Man On The Edge, alcoholic salesman Samuel L Jackson, crash into each other on Friday, fight like dogs/children on Saturday (and Sunday), and finally see sense on Monday. Excellent. Sorry if I’ve spoilt it for you. Extras Director’s commentary, featurettes, deleted/extended scenes, trailer.
