Bent – The Everlasting Blink (Sport)
The chilled-out knob twiddlers have been released back into the community with their follow-up to 2001’s Programmed To Love debut. Nail and Simon possess an uncanny knack of being able to take a load of essentially dodgy components - cheesy Ibiza keyboard noises, Hawaiian pedal steel, David Essex samples and recordings of people eating M&Ms - and soldering them together with such panache as to make a very listenable album. If The Everlasting Blink were a person it would be relaxing with your mother with a cheeky grin and a knowing wink. David Essex? I mean, I ask you… Matt Walton 28 February 02
