Erlend Øye – Unrest (Source)
Erlend, for now, is going it alone. Unrest is an album that the Kings Of Convenience’s singer/guitarist has recorded out of frustration that his musical other half won’t tour. Erlend, on the other hand, is happiest on the move and his solo album comprises 10 songs recorded in 10 cities, under 10 different producers. Surprising then that it remains a consistent listen, with Erlend’s fey but earnest storytelling underscored by glitchy Röyksopp-esque electronica. Much like a more considered version of the KOC remix album. Matt Walton 06 February 03
