Let off the leash. Hatefully photogenic but blessed with boundless promise, the debut album from Nashville brats Be Your Own Pet is a blurred Polaroid of a band in transit. The omission of first single, Damn Damn Leash, shows that the Teen Vogue Yeah Yeah Yeahs have hit creative puberty fast. But as the power-trash of Wildcat clatters awkwardly into the tremendous three-wheeler skank of Adventure, it seems that Jemina Pearl and pals are already headed for someplace better. With rough edges only occasionally masking razor-sharp inspiration, the world is theirs if they want it bad enough. Be Your Own Pet - Be Your Own Pet, released 27 March 06 on XL Recordings.
